One pleasing thing today is that Trump hasn’t been the focus of attention in the mainstream media re the Nobel Peace Prize. After clickbait headlines all week on what he will do in revenge if he doesn’t get the gong, common sense prevailed today. Tomorrow’s another day: relish the current calm!

Read the achievements of this worthy winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. And read about her character, her values, and her struggles. My respect goes to the committee who upheld the Nobel values. www.threads.com/@nobelpri…

Noticing that Micro.blog posts I’ve written on mobile devices have more typos or syntax errors than those I write via the website. Could be the keyboards (tiny and virtual on mobile, big and physical with the computer), or maybe a lack of Grammarly on mobile?

Clickbait is a “degrading” part of journalism, says Pope Leo, adding that news agencies deliver a service which “requires competence, courage and a sense of ethics”. www.theguardian.com/australia…

With all the fuss and concern about whether the girl who says she’s Madeleine McCann, surely a DNA test would determine whether that’s true or not?

Slight teething issue with Micro.blog where cross-posting from there to Bluesky suddenly didn’t work. Threads is ok. Something disconnected the accounts. A fediverse issue perhaps? I’ve set it up again, let’s see if it works with this post.

Reading that Zelenskyy said he will lobby for Trump to win the Nobel Peace Prize if he sends Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine and helps broker a ceasefire with Russia.

So now it’s just a transaction. Still, probably out of time as the prize laureate will be announced tomorrow, Oct 10.

If your Windows 11 PC is running 25H2, this useful guide that explains in detail the changes or new functions in 18 core settings is very handy - https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft/windows-11/settings-apps-best-features-available-in-2025-on-windows-11-version-25h2-and-24h2

Installed the micro.blog Android app. I imagine using this more than going to the website.

I see that my new micro.blog is already populated with the content - posts from my Bluesky and Threads accounts. The power of the fediverse! This post should auto-share on those two services if I’ve set it up correctly.

Just signed up for micro.blog. Aiming to publish short posts that are too short for my main blog that will serve as a kind of bookmarking service for that type of content. Let’s see how it goes.
